Our Company was founded in 1963 in a small store front on old Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey. When urban renewal swept through Monterey in 1965 the office moved to the Pacific Street location. With continued growth and a business driven by giving good service, we moved in 1991 to our present location on Abrego Street. We transformed the old First National Bank building into one of the nicest places to work or to come in and make your reservations. We have 13 employees in the office ready to help you with your every travel need.

NORM EDWARDS, PRESIDENT
Norm became a partner in Carmel-Monterey Travel in 1983 following a 12 year career with United Airlines. While with United, he worked as a budget Analyst in corporate Planning, Industrial Engineer, Operating Manager in Inflight Service and City Manager. Since 1983, the agency has experienced strong growth. Today Carmel-Monterey Travel produces volumes within the top ten percent of travel agencies in the nation. Norm believes that a high level of services delivered by truly knowledgeable, caring travel professionals equipped with state of the art technology and strong travel supplier relationships are the keys to the agency’s long standing good reputation. Carmel-Monterey Travel offers our clients the ability to research travel options via our internet site while delivering person to person service through our “bricks and mortar” office. Carmel-Monterey Travel has enjoyed an outstanding reputation dating back to 1963. Norm feels strongly that the company must continue to build on its strength of the past while taking advantage of the exciting changes in the future.

MARC WOODBURY, CTC VICE PRESIDENT
Marc graduated with a major in geography from Illinois State University and has been with us since 1976. Marc’s unquenchable thirst for knowledge ensures that all of our clients get the most bang for their travel bucks. He is a seasoned world traveler whose journeys have taken him to Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, and his favorite destination, Australia. He has been on numerous cruises and finds them the most relaxing way to travel. Marc’s wealth of experience helps clients plan everything from simple air reservations to sophisticated around the world trips.

TOM GREELEY
Tom was an award winning reporter and editor at several daily newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, before changing careers and entering the travel industry in 1997. His wanderlust has taken him to all 50 United States and on numerous lengthy journeys in Europe. He also has traveled extensively in Hawaii and Mexico. A taste for the exotic has taken him to Israel, Morocco and Yugoslavia. Tom’s after hours passions are sports, theater, and literature.

PATRICIA VAN LAARHOVEN
Patricia has worked in virtually every facet of the travel industry during her 30 plus year career. She started with Air France in 1969 and managed three airlines at Monterey Peninsula Airport before joining Carmel-Monterey Travel in 1988. Originally from Belgium, and with family in Tuscany, she is especially proficient in planning detailed, customized European itineraries. Patricia has been designated a Hawaii specialist by Signature Travel Network and is also a cruise expert.

KIMBERLY SIMON
Kimberly brings a wealth of experience to Carmel-Monterey Travel’s corporate department. She began her travel career with United Airlines starting in domestic reservations and working her way up the ladder to the world’s largest carrier’s around the world desk. She later specialized in serving United’s premier frequent flyers and worked as a travel agency liaison. Las Vegas is her favorite destination.

DJ GERRITSEN
DJ brings more than 25 years experience to Carmel-Monterey Travel. Her travel career has included being a customer service specialist for United Airlines and a travel agent specializing in leisure travel. She currently serves as our receptionist and sales assistant to the agents in the office. Her travels have taken her to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Europe, the Orient, Africa, and the South Pacific.

DENNIS GARRISON, CTC CHAIRMAN & CEO
Dennis joined the agency in 1974 after spending five years with Pan American Airways in reservations and sales. He has been witness to many changes in the industry over the years. What has not changed is the company’s ability to adjust and to thrive through the years. He credits sound management to a degree, but most of all the credit goes to our wonderful employees, many of whom have been with the company for more than 25 years. Dennis’ duties include day to day management, accounting functions and selling travel. He has traveled extensively and has been booking travel for over 30 years.

PAULA ARNOLD
Paula has over 15 years experience in the industry. Her specialties are luxury cruises and independent travel arrangements in France and Italy.

BETTY COLE, CTC
Betty has been in the industry over 25 years. She is our group expert and one of our top cruise specialists. She has traveled extensively world wide.

MARY HILL
Thirty plus years experience in the travel industry. Mary is also a foreign independent travel expert and a cruise specialist.

SIMONE JACKSON, CTC
Simone has over 30 years experience in the travel business. She started in her native France and has traveled all over the world. She became a CTC (Certified Travel Counselor) in 1981 and was honored by being published in the ICTA marketing manual. She is interested in European art and history and specializes in customized foreign travel. She has cruised on many cruise lines and keeps abreast with the latest cruise news and ships to better serve her clients. She is an expert in planning family reunions and groups as well as escorting on land or sea. Last, but not least, Simone loves to transmit her enthusiasm of seeing new places to her clients and add that personal touch.

INGRID SELIN
Ingrid will reluctantly admit to over 40 years in the travel industry, over 30 with Carmel-Monterey Travel. She started her career in Gothenburg, Sweden, and after a short year in Manhattan, moved to Los Angeles and Travcoa Travel Corporation of America, before advancing to Carmel-Monterey Travel. Ingrid loves her job and feels very confortable assisting her clients with their travel needs, Especially to Europe. If you are thinking about a trip to Scandinavia, think Ingrid.

BEVERLY WILLIAMS
Over 30 years in the business. Beverly has experience in all phases of travel planning. She leaves “no rock unturned” in her dedication to the details of your trip.
